Score A lot more than Touchdowns on PS3 Madden 10

With a high-intensity soundtrack, PS3 Madden 10 players will get even more for their gaming dollar. These soundtracks have become such a major part of the sports video games that the game just wouldn't be the same without it. PS3 Madden 10's soundtrack brings the right level of intensity, as well as a great mix of newer and older songs ("older" being a relative term here, of course). If you're not convinced, check out PS3 Madden 10's roster of songs: "Can't C Me" by 2Pac, "Heads are Gonna Roll" by Airbourne, "Them Bones" by Alice in Chains, "Created a Monster" by B.o.B, "Revolution" by Bang Camaro, "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys, "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath, "Get 'Em Up" by Cypress Hill, "Unsung" by Helmet, "Aces High" by Iron Maiden, "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, "I Am the Bullgod" by Kid Rock, "Reckoning" by Killswitch Engage, "Blind" by Korn, "Divinations" by Mastodon, "Hate Me Now" by Nas featuring Puff Daddy, "Breed" by Nirvana, "Walk" by Pantera, "Shut 'Em Down" by Public Enemy, "Guerrilla Radio" by Rage Against the Machine, "Gaia Bleeds (Make Way for Man)" by Set Your Goals, "Duality" by Slipknot, "Sugar" by System of a Down, "Before I Die" by The Vanity Plan," and "Cheah Beah" by Young Dre The Truth.

If all those features and upgrades haven't convinced you that PS3 Madden 10 is a masterpiece, then perhaps a trip through the sports video game timeline will. Yeah, it may be a little much to rave about a current day game at the expense of the earliest football video games. But when you look at the old versus the new, you can truly appreciate the epic nature of PS3 Madden 10. At the dawn of video game consoles, one of the top requests from every hardcore gamer was a football video game for their system, naturally. The downside was, the gaming technology wasn't quite up to speed yet, so video football fanatics had to settle, in a big way. "All the excitement" of the real thing, the game publishers crowed back then. Competition was nonexistent, so this one was a huge hit for the biggest video game console in the day. Those guys on the playing field sure couldn't pass for actual football players. Let's get that out of the way. You think that photo looks limited, you should see the gameplay itself. Put too many characters on screen at once with these older games, and every character started flashing and flickering. The "crowd" cheering sounded closer to a car running over gravel. Things were so limited that a scrolling screen was out of the question. Not long afterwards, the main competition developed a more advanced football video game for their console. It certainly was an improvement, with improved graphics, sound, and gameplay. Better, but not great. That one caused a huge sensation upon its arrival to the video game world, and while it set a (slightly) higher standard, this wasn't the foundation for football video games to be built on. It would take a few more years for that to happen. This next one reaped the benefits of the 8-bit gaming revolution, and people still rave about it to this day. For many years, this was the greatest football video game.

Not hard to understand why that caught on - they were the first to really bring a more comprehensive simulation of football to the video game console. Football video games went to the next level with that one, due to the much needed upgrades. It's even got a presence in the gaming world today, thanks to its online comeback. That being said, PS3 Madden 10 still blows it away. Take a look at it, after taking in all of those older games.

We've come a long way, and you, along with football video games, have been the largest beneficiary. But there's no purpose in ragging on the early games. No need to beat a dead horse. Those games, while archaic, got us to where we are today, and for that, they deserve their place in the video game hall of fame (though that first one may be better off in "video game hall of shame.") PS3 Madden 10 is in a whole different stratosphere than its predecessors, and for that, hardcore gamers have every reason to be stoked. But it's not just the hardcore gamers that are loving this one - the critics have weighed in, and they give it the thumbs up. Comments like "realistic and enjoyable" pepper each PS3 Madden 10 review. EA Sports has sacked all the competition with PS3 Madden 10, to nobody's surprise. There's no debating it - PS3 Madden 10 is an all-time great sports video game. Sure, we love all PlayStation sports video games, but PS3 Madden 10 stands at the top, as one of the best. For many, this is the PlayStation football game by which all others are measured. And it's where they separate the men from the boys, by letting you duke it out for some serious cash.

PlayStation Madden 10 aficionados now get to face off for big bucks. Once you do your homework and study the playbook, you'll be in the end zone scoring points and making your rivals weep as you empty out their bank accounts.
