The nhl 11 league is another winning release from EA Sports. Players are getting spoiled by the continued improvements; but, they will still look for an improved version by next year. This is what they have come to expect from the NHL series. The North American cover features Jonathan Toews, captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, the Stanley Cup winning and the recipient of the 2010 Conn Smythe Trophy.
As has become a hallmark of EA Sports, NHL 11 marks an evolutionary step forward for the series. The changes generally allow for a more realistic and creative game play, mode changes and adding the Canadian Hockey League. This title can be played on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. NHL 11 has all the same game modes of the previous title. The new mode is the Ultimate Team mode. The new mode must be played online. In this mode, players build a team using cards. The choice of some 4,000 players in different leagues offers a good variety to choose from. The assembled team will battle other players teams. The created team will be a member of the EA Ultimate Hockey League. In 30 days you will go through a whole season. Through single-player matches and various tournaments teams will be ranked for the playoffs. Each month a new season commences. Players who do well in the post-season are rewarded with banners and logos. In the off season, all players will get a Free Agent Pack and a Draft Pack. Chemistry plays an important role in the Ultimate Team mode. Players who play together in real will play better together. The combination of player types, and if the player is at their natural position, also impacts the chemistry element. A whole host of gameplay modifications have brought greater authenticity to this title. The physics engine is the big difference that will be noticeable for players of older titles that used the animation system it replaces. Unpredictability of real game is realized better in this virtual version. A new faceoff system also enhances the realism of this delightful new addition to the series. The first appearance of the Canadian Hockey League in this series adds more depth and diversity. Adding this most prestigious grouping of junior hockey is a coup for EA Sports. The members are the Western Hockey, the Ontario Hockey and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey leagues. The number of playable teams rises by 60 with this new addition. Players will now play for the Memorial Cup they compete for. The Canadians hope to raise popular awareness of junior hockey with its appearance in the virtual sphere. The inclusion of player names from this league should help bring greater awareness of junior hockey and the role it plays in enriching the professional rank.
Already a best-selling game around the world, the addition of these young players will give many fans an introduction to young hockey players on the verge of being drafted into the NHL. With the NHL series already featuring teams from the NHL, the AHL and several European teams, the incorporation of the Canadian juniors further adds to the play value of NHL 11. The realistic gameplay along with the many modes of play will bring gamers coming back for more.
